ProctorU, our current online proctoring service, will be here on campus to answer any questions you may have, as well as to ensure that your ProctorU account is set up and working correctly.

During this event, we will go over the proctoring options available at Missouri S&T, demonstrate ProctorU, and illustrate how to create exams in Canvas that will best work with ProctorU’s services.

If you want to go ahead and create a ProctorU account, you can do so at:

https://go.proctoru.com

NOTE: It can take up to 48 hours to create your account. Also, our institution is listed as “Missouri Science and Technology” (our full name is too long for their system).

We look forward to seeing you there!

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about online proctoring, please contact Malcolm Hays (mhays@mst.edu) or Kassey Cline (clinekn@mst.edu).

Using Lecture Capture or Clickers for Spring 2018? https://edtechconnect.mst.edu/2017/12/04/using-lecture-capture-or-clickers-for-spring-2018/ Mon, 04 Dec 2017 15:45:10 +0000 https://edtechconnect.mst.edu/?p=2031 Do you plan to use lecture capture during SPRING 2018?

If so, then Educational Technology will need to gather some basic information from you so that we may prepare any room(s) in which you will be teaching with the appropriate technology.

http://mst.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6LMRNHB1fYjY5et
(Please fill out the survey by Friday, December 29)

This survey will ask you in which rooms you will be teaching and will also ask which technology (audio or video) that you will need. NOTE: Most rooms are already equipped with suitable technology.

If you are planning to use clickers in SPRING 2018, please visit the clicker registration page (linked below) to register your classes by FRIDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2017.

https://itweb.mst.edu/auth-cgi-bin/cgiwrap/clickers/request_clickers.pl

TEGRITY Courses Purged at End of Semester – SP 2017 https://edtechconnect.mst.edu/2017/04/20/tegrity-courses-purged-at-end-of-semester-sp-2017/ Thu, 20 Apr 2017 13:31:33 +0000 https://edtechconnect.mst.edu/?p=1924 IMPORTANT! Please read the following message VERY carefully!

Educational Technology (EdTech) will be purging ALL course sessions stored in Tegrity at close of business on Friday, May 26, 2017.

Missouri S&T’s usage agreement with Tegrity limits us to only 500 hours of recordings per semester. This means we MUST remove all recordings from Tegrity at the end of each semester in order to ensure we have enough space available for recordings in the next semester.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU:

If you used Tegrity lecture capture to record your class sessions, those recordings will be removed permanently from Tegrity’s servers. This includes any recordings in your private course. All Tegrity users are given a private course in addition to their regular courses (listed as “ Private Course” in the course list inside of Tegrity).

If you would like to maintain any recordings (for archival purposes), the link below shows how to download the recordings for storage:

http://edtech.mst.edu/support/tegrity/downloadrecording/

NOTE: In previous semesters, it was possible for instructors and students to “subscribe” to a Tegrity recording as a podcast through iTunes. The current version of Tegrity is apparently having difficulty interfacing properly with the most recent versions of iTunes. This means that iTunes no longer downloads the Tegrity recordings properly.

Any instructor who would like assistance in backing up their Tegrity recordings is strongly encouraged to contact the Help Desk at 573-341-HELP or online at help.mst.edu. EdTech will be glad to provide that assistance.

More information about Tegrity lecture capture can be found at:

http://edtech.mst.edu/support/tegrity/
