Just to clarify, a “freshman” is any enrolled student with 30 or fewer hours of course credit. S&T has 1,489 first-time college students enrolled this semester. While usually at the freshman level, they sometimes come to S&T with more than 30 credit hours and can be a sophomore.
]]>Hi, Robin — As of the fourth week of classes, there are 1,593 freshmen enrolled. You can find the official enrollment grid on the registrar’s website.
]]>Hello, Ms. Hoffman – We are indeed aware of the challenges that enrollment growth has brought. That’s why Chancellor Schrader announced in her 2013 State of the University Address a plan to hire 100 additional faculty by 2020. “With all this growth, there come significant challenges,” the chancellor said in that address. “If Missouri S&T is to retain its reputation for renowned faculty who are also accessible, we must invest in our faculty.”
We hope your son has found appropriate help. Our office of undergraduate studies and Student Success Center both offer assistance for our students.
