I certainly experienced the full range of sexism when I was a student at UMR (1995-1999, Chem), from implicit bias and “microaggressions” to verbal sexual harassment and physical sexual assault. I appreciate efforts to examine and solve this problem.

However, I find it ironically sad that this article attempts to point out how women’s contributions to science have historically been diminished–while perpetuating that very trend. Marie Curie won not one, but two Nobel Prizes, one in chemistry and one in physics. She is the only Nobel laureate of any gender to have won Prizes in two different fields.
