Sun, 30 Jul 2023 11:27:34 +0000https://news.mst.edu/?p=48663#comment-366586The major challenge with applying AI to concrete mix design selection will be what material and performance variables are to be used for developing the necessary relationships that enable meaningful predictions. In particular, (a) admixture-cementitious material interactions will require detailed chemical property information about both the admixtures and cementitious materials, and (b) the use of by-products from various industries will have variable lot-to-lot compositions. At the very least, perhaps this effort will help define the limitations of AI as applied to “robust”concrete production having the desired performance.
