When espoused with the words ‘smaller carbon footprint’ I can’t help but believe the benefactors of this grant have chosen to forget that carbon, the most common element on the planet, is not harmful in an of it’s own existence. The value of our money is being debased before our eyes yet this university chooses to announce it has bilked the taxpayer our of $5 million USD chasing misguided ‘climate change’ solutions.
Our federal government employs roughly 1 million people through federal grant system. With a $32 Trillion USD debt coupled with an annual deficit of $2 Trillion…and climbing…this taxpayer is inclined to recommend and insist the entire university grant system be abolished until our federal debt issues are resolved. Economics will no doubt dictate this sooner or later.
In the future I would much prefer to hear about privately-funded research that was directed towards real issues and problems as opposed to those contrived by the ‘climate-change’ cult.
