Celebrating 150 Years

Missouri S&T was chartered on Feb. 24, 1870, as the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy. Classes were first called to order on Nov. 6, 1871. In 2020-21, we commemorate our 150-year legacy of discovery, creativity and innovation. Please join us as we honor the university’s past, celebrate its present and envision its future.

Time Capsule Project

As part of Missouri S&T's 150th anniversary celebration, a time capsule was ceremoniously closed on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, and will be installed in the campus's new arrival district. The time capsule will be opened during S&T’s bicentennial in 2071.
